Wow, this month has flown by...
Hey, hope all of you are doing very well. God has been so good here in Roatan, Honduras. First, I want to talk about family that we had come in on a cruise. Lorenda's grandmother and her two sisters came in on a Carnival cruise. They had only about 6 hours to hang out with us. We went to pick them up at the port and then I gave them a small tour around the island on our way to our house. Once we got to the house, they were amazed at where we live and they loved all of the beauty around our house. We then took them in to a small town where tourist go to get gifts and we took them to the chocolate factory. They were able to buy some and take it back with them on the cruise. Once we showed them around town for a little bit, we had to start the journey back to the port to drop them off at the cruise. They had an amazing time and hope to come back again and stay at a resort. It is such a blessing when family comes to visit you, whether it is for one day or multiple weeks.

We also had another friend that came in to visit us. We met her when we were in language school and she became a really good friend. She lives in the states but comes back often to Honduras and when she does we get to see her and spend a little time with her.

During this month our family once again got sick. We are not sure if we got Covid again or not but we stayed in the house. We had the body aches and bad cough for a little over a week. We were very exhausted feeling for about two weeks. Finally after about 14 days we were able to get back into our normal routine. Please continue to pray for our health.
One of the greatest things we got to do here on the island is attend the baptist conference. This conference started on a Friday night, then Saturday from 2pm to 9pm and then Sunday from 2pm to 10pm. The teaching was amazing and we were able to understand a lot more about Revelation. The worship was amazing and we were all up on our feet praising the Lord. I am so thankful of this conference and it will be happening again in October.
I was recently asked by a church in the states to do a video testimony for them for their Celebrate Recovery. I was able to sit down and update my testimony from about one year ago. I was able to do a 30 minute video. They sent me a message back and said that it went very well. I love sharing my testimony with others because I know how much of a mess I was, but God turned that mess into a message for His honor and glory.

I am still working on my small group with men on the step study books. We are finishing up book 2 and going into book 3 soon. We are halfway done and these men are opening up a lot more than when they first started the group. It is so cool to see how God changes lives. Another thing that will be coming up is that our church that we go to here on the island is building a learning center and should be fully functional by the first of the year. This is going to be the location that we will be starting up the large group Celebrate Recovery. We are hoping to do a CR pep rally in November and December to get people excited about recovery here on the island. We ask that you continue to pray for Celebrate Recovery here on the island, because we know that it can change lives for God's kingdom work.

We are still going to the rehab and teaching twice a week. We love going there and creating relationships with all of these men and women who are coming out of addiction, accepting Christ, and working for Him with all honor and praise. We recently have had a few men to return to the rehab because they have fallen back into addiction, but the good thing was is that they knew it was wrong and had that tug at their heart to go back to the rehab because they needed help. That is a good thing because normally they would just stay out there and never come back to the foot of the cross and just completely give up. They are wanting the best for their life and they are truly seeking it through the love of Jesus Christ.
One last thing that I would like to talk about and ask for your prayers in, is that Lorenda and I have decided to go Whole foods, plant based (WFPB) eating. I felt God calling me to do something and I have decided to make it a lifestyle change. We have now gone 30 days without meat, eggs, dairy, and fish. We only eat what is grown from the plants. We get fresh mangoes just about everyday from the tree in our neighbors property. I have come to tell you that I have never felt better and I feel as if I am getting stronger and stronger everyday to do whatever the Lord calls me to do. I have been going to the gym with Lorenda three times a week and we walk just about every morning three miles. This lifestyle change has truly given us more energy to do what God has called us to do.

I am so thankful that through all of your prayers and giving this has been able to happen here in Roatan, Honduras. I ask that you continue to pray for us that we continue to stay in the will of our Father. We never want to step out of those boundaries. Through your wonderful sacrificial giving we have been able to do so much here for the Lord, so we are so thankful for what you have done already and what you will be doing in the future.
