Wow! It has been very busy this month and being sick too.
Hey all. It has been awhile since I have blogged. I have a lot to talk about so I will try my best not to make it too long. Lol. This month has been full of so much ministry and also much sickness in our house. First, I want to talk about ministry. We have been going to the rehab and teaching the Bible and how to follow Christ to the men that are there. We have created really strong relationships with them and we feel like we are family with them. They take care of us by walking us to and from our car when we go to the rehab to teach because the area that the rehab is in is not so good of an area to be in. They are like our bodyguards. We love going there and have been teaching there for a year and a half. We now have a full teaching staff that comes there five days a week to teach them the Bible. We are training these men to be disciple makers and to go and make disciples for Jesus Christ when they get out. I am so proud of these guys for making the decision to come into the rehab to seek help because they want a better life. That is why the name of the rehab is called "Jesus is the Solution". To have a better life you need Jesus as your Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit to guide you day by day living one day at a time.

We have also had our first family member come to the island. My father-in-law and his brother came on a cruise to the island. We went and picked them up and spent about five hours with them and showed them where we live and also the rehab where we teach. They truly enjoyed the time here on the island and hopefully they will come back again to see us for a longer period of time. My father-in-law was very sick when he got off the ship and we had to take him to see the doctor here on the island and the doctor said that he needed to see his doctor back home because he had some fluid in his lungs. He gave him some medicine to help with the problem. My father-in-law said that if he did not get those meds he would have been in really bad shape. So, we are so thankful that we had a great doctor here that was able to take care of him. The next family member that we will have come to the island is my mom. She and her friend will be coming in April for fifteen days. We are so excited to see them and show them all that is going on here on the island, and also let them have some relaxation and fun.

My oldest son came in for Christmas break from school and he was here for a whole month. I was able to play some basketball with him and some other things. I hope he had a great time while he was here. When he first got here we took him out to eat at an Indian restaurant and I got sick with something in my stomach. I was sick for about three days not eating anything. It was rough. Then, we had about three weeks with him that were great and sickness free, until Guenther and I got Covid. It really hit me hard and it took a lot out of me, but after about ten days I started to feel better and got outside and did some things. I was tired for a few days but finally I got my energy back to where things were getting back to normal. About half of January I was sick. I am glad now that I am better and things are back rolling smoothly.

I have been doing a Celebrate Recovery step study with a few men that live here on the island. I am so glad that we are having a great time, but we are digging deep in our hearts and pulling out all of the wounds that have kept us from having a deep close relationship with our Lord and Savior. We meet every Monday night for one hour. I believe we have started a small brotherhood of brothers that look out for each other. This group of men are putting in their efforts to change and things are going great.

We are trying to work on getting Celebrate Recovery to the other side of the island and other parts of the mainland Honduras. So, we would love for you to team with us and pray that CR will be all over Honduras and that we will see many hearts healed through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We now have a new member added to our family, Jac. He is a small Chihuahua and he loves to sleep. He is a great comfort to us all and has brought lots of joy to our home. I am so glad we made the choice to get him. The funny thing is, is that Guenther picked the dog, Guenther named the dog, and mom and dad takes care of the dog. This was supposed to be his dog, but it has been like a brother to him, but a baby to Lorenda and I.

I have also been doing mens ministry at the church that we are a part of. We currently are having mens luncheons every quarter and I am currently in the process of working on setting up a three day mens conference in August. I am trying to create unity and a brotherhood that we can rely on and come to each other when we are struggling, but most of all doing it in the name of Jesus Christ so that we can spread the Gospel more across this island. God is good and He is doing mighty things here in Honduras and we would ask you to pray that we can stir up a fire in the hearts of the men here.
One last thing I would like to talk about is that Lorenda and I had an opportunity to be a part of a marriage conference here on the island so that our marriage can be strengthened in the Lord. We learned so many things and on the last day, which was my favorite, we got to take communion together in private. This was a time where we got to forgive each other for past issues, and also keep no record of wrong. It was like we were renewing our vows with a covenant and then sharing communion to seal it. It was emotional, awesome, and created a new kind of love for each other.

We thank you so much for all that you have done for us, through prayer, giving, and encouraging support. Like I said earlier, God is on the move and He is doing great and mighty things here in Honduras. We hope that you will reach out to us and plan a trip to come out and see what God is doing here in Roatan, Honduras.
May God bless you all,
