Men’s Conference and Prom

Hey guys, it's Messiah and I have had an awesome weekend. Saturday was the best day. In the morning, my dad and I went to a mens conference here at my church. I learned a lot, and I got to help lead worship with some really cool people, including my fellow guitarist friend. I had an awesome time singing and worshipping. The conference was called "Men in the Word", and I'll tell you, we were in the word buddy!!! We had about three different people speak, and I learned a lot from a bunch of them.

Right after the conference, I had to rush home, get my hair cut, and go to my Spring Banquet, or Prom, for Missionary kids. It was focused on friendships and not dates. At first I didn’t want to go, but my mom encouraged me to go and so I went and loved it!!!! Our Prom schedule....

I had such a fun time at this Prom, and I can't wait for next year. We played a game, kind of like live Clue. I had fun playing, even though I stink at Clue. I didn't end up guessing the killer, but I did end up being the richest person (a Hollywood producer) in the game. I met a lot of new friends that are here in Honduras, and we hung out a lot at the Prom. The service at the Prom was great. We were served chicken cordon blue, a garden salad, seemed vegetables, and mashed potatoes. The people who served us didn't really want to talk, but I got them to talk a little bit. After the eating, we had the choice to go swimming or to just hang out in the ball room. Of course, I chose to go swimming. The only thing was that It was SUPER DUPER COLD for here in Honduras. I didn't regret it one bit, and swam my heart out. After we went swimming, I had the weirdest experience with roasting smores. It was a fun experience, but it was weird. We had a little toaster- like heater to "heat up" the marshmallows. I had to wait like 5 minutes before my marshmallow turned brownish yellow. The time that I had at the prom will be unforgettable, and I definitely can't wait for next year.

Okay, Spanish classes are going great, and I'm still trucking on with my past tense verbs. This week, basically the whole country is shut down because of the virus, so we don't have any Spanish school. I hope that the virus goes away soon, and I'm praying for the people who can't work here. If the people can't work, they can't get the two tortillas and spoonful of beans that they get once a day. Just imagine that the little bit that people get is now gone. So we need to pray for Honduras, and everywhere, that has this virus, and hope that God shows up.

Thank y'all for reading, and the professional pictures from the prom will be up in a few weeks.
