March - Spiritual Warfare is REAL
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
There are so many details that I could share about this month, but God has laid it on my heart to share about spiritual warfare. This month has had many blessings, but we have felt the attacks of the enemy again and again. To start, this month was a big month...it was the month that we relaunched Celebrate Recovery here in Roatan, Honduras. Not only did we relaunch the adult program, but we started up the program for kids and teens as well. And to top it off, the kids and teen Celebrate Recovery program just recently launched on the east side of the island (Oakridge, Roatan, Honduras) as well. Our hearts are for brining the hope and healing of Jesus Christ to the entire family unit. God used this Christ centered recovery tool to help heal our marriage/family and we know that it can help many here as well. I guess the enemy got the memo that we were starting back up and he wasn't too happy....so began the attacks. Our refrigerator broke twice, the repair guys took a few days to get here to fix it each time (praise God they got it fixed), our car had some expensive repairs needed (praise God for our mechanics and the funds to cover the repairs), Tyler's back went out to the point that we were going to possibly have to get an MRI (praise God he is doing better and we didn't need to get further testing), I got an upper respiratory infection (praise God the medicine kicked it right out of my body), then Guenther got an upper respiratory infection (praise God he's better), the small crack from a rock on our windshield has spread across the whole windshield (praise God it doesn't leak and we're hoping to get it fixed soon), Guenther got "jungle rot" on his leg and arm and needed antibiotics (praise God he's better), and the list goes on and on. BUT GOD....as you see after every major hit from the enemy, God came through to see to it that He pulled us through.
My prayer request is that you pray for me, please. Pray that I will stand strong in the LORD against the attacks of the enemy. Please pray that many families will find the hope and healing of Jesus Christ through Celebrate Recovery. Pray I daily put on the full armor of God to stay protected from the schemes of the devil. THANK YOU for coming alongside me in prayer. Your prayers help tremendously!
The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
