God Keeps Opening Doors...

I am going to first start out on how the month has been going and then I will get into how He is opening doors for me throughout the island. One of the greatest opportunities that I have here on the island is to teach at the rehab center. I have seen many lives changed at the rehab because the focus is not as much on sobriety as it is on having a relationship with Jesus. The name of the rehab is its main focus, which is "Jesus Is The Solution". When you die to yourself and regain new life in Christ, you will have a better outlook on life and a better perspective. In the month of June there were eight guys from the rehab that gave their life to the Lord and got baptized in the ocean after church on a Sunday. These men need constant prayer because they are hit with temptation everyday and they need to stay strong in the Lord, so please pray for them as they embark on a new journey in their life as they follow the Lord.

A few friends from the mainland Honduras have now moved to the island and we were able to go and see their soccer game that they played. It was awesome to sit and actually watch a game for once, because usually I like to be involved in playing, but this time I got to relax and watch the game. It was great and hope to get to see them play again.

I have started a new way of eating called whole food plant based (WFPB). This is where we are no longer eating meat, dairy, eggs, or anything that once had a face. We are focused on eating all veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds, and grains. This way of eating has truly changed my lifestyle, my energy levels, and pain in my body. I have also been going to the gym three times a week and I am allowing God to make me stronger each and every day so that I can do anything that He calls me to do.

I am still working with my small group of men in my step study class for Celebrate Recovery. We are in the middle of book three and soon will be starting book four. I am hoping that by the end of the month of August we will be done with book four. I ask that you pray for us and our small group as we continue to change our lives so that the Lord can do mighty things through us.

We have a life group that we do on Thursday nights and we are so excited as the group is growing and we have new people that have started to attend. We are working now on the Beatitudes in Matthew. God is so good and we can truly see the Spirit here in this place during our group time.

I was so happy to see that my oldest son received his renewed passport so that he could come home to visit. It took a while for him to get it, but finally he received it and we will be seeing him in the month of August.

My wife and I had another experience this month at a marriage conference. One of my favorite things to do is to go to conferences with my wife that helps us to be renewed within our marriage. This conference was put on by Roatan Alive and man they did a great job and I cannot wait to see them when they come back next year.

Now, I am going to talk to you about God opening doors for me. I was asked by my landlord if I would be willing to speak at their church and I said sure, just tell the pastor to give me a call and we can set it up. The day they had me to preach was an all day event. It started at 10:30 am in the morning and went all the way to 9 pm at night. They fed everyone there, lunch and dinner, so you did not have to leave for anything. I preached at the 3 pm service. My sermon topic was "You Were Dead, But God..." Ephesians 2:1 - 10. I spoke on our past, present, and future. It was a great time and now I know what other pastors talk about when they are lead by the Holy Spirit. He lead me in the direction He wanted me to go, and He used my tongue to speak what He wanted the congregation to hear. On this day there were three different pastors that spoke and all three of us had sermons that tied into one another and we did not even speak about what we were going to preach about to each other. Wow! You know that was all God! Since that day, I was asked to preach at another church on the east side of the island in August. You will hear more about those sermons in my August blog. I truly believe God is calling me to preach and I am open to do as He calls me. I also enjoy it too. I ask that you continue to pray for me as doors are being opened more for me here on the island.

I am so thankful for all that you all do for us. You all have truly made this possible for us through your sacrificial giving and your adamant prayers. God's work is truly being done here and this island is being changed day by day for the glory of God.
