Christmas break, and My Bilingual Song

Hey guys. It's Messiah!!! It's been a long time since I've blogged, and you'll be exited to hear what I've done over break. Living here, I have learned so much Spanish. I can actually say that I can finally have a conversation with a normal Honduran, and actually understand and laugh at their jokes that normally don't make sense in English. Since I have learned a lot of Spanish in the last five months, over the break I wrote my first Spanish/English song. The pastor asked me if I could write a song about offerings, and I said yes. I love writing, playing, and singing songs, so I was pumped about doing it.The music minister at my church made sure my Spanish words and pronunciations were correct. The name of the song is "Have Your Way". I got to sing it in front of the church, and I felt so happy. When I sang it, everyone loved it. I'm glad that God gave me the ability to sing, and serve Him.

This Christmas was the best Christmas of my life. My family went over to our neighbor's house, and we had so much fun there. We stayed up all night throwing firecrackers and playing soccer. We didn't go to bed until 2:30 in the morning. Christmas here in Hondurans is a lot different than in the United States. Here, on Christmas Eve, they stay up all night. At about 9:00 they eat a chicken salad sandwich made of ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard with chicken. After they eat this, they throw more firecrackers and play. At 12:00 they eat a big meal of roasted chicken, rice, bread, tortillas, and the best things called nacatamales. If you are ever here during Christmas time, you have to try the nacatamales. Christmas here was very good, and I had so much fun. Of course I missed Christmas with the family and friends, but I love it here, and I believe that God has me where he wants me right now.

I hope y'all had fun reading my blog, and i'll see y'all next week.
